Extra $320,000 In Profit Per Year...In Just 10 Hours

An agency owner has been working hard on his agency for years, but felt like he hit a plateau and wasn't sure what to do.

When decision-makers find themselves at a point where their agency isn’t growing, they feel like it’s the end of the line for their company and the end is imminent…

But they can also get out of that rut and grow their agency again once they know exactly what they need to work on.

Their Goals

His goal was simple, but knowing how to execute it eluded him.

First, he wanted to increase revenue so that the business can run without constantly worrying about bringing in new clients in each month.

Secondly, he need a system which will reduce the need for his involvement in the day-to-day operations.   He didn't want to have to work so many hours, and worry about what work wasn't being done whenever he was out of the office.

Lastly, he wanted a way to finally scale it move upward to the agency he always envisioned.

The Challenge

After years of operation, a branding and creative design company had stalled.

He had hit a glass ceiling. And hit it hard.

The frustrated owner had tried everything, but his agency wasn't growing.

It felt like he was in quicksand.  The harder he fought, the more he tried to get out of it, the worse it became.

Because his growth was stagnant, he didn’t have the money needed to invest in scaling their team.

This meant the agency was understaffed, so the owner had to take on a greater workload and sacrifice his personal life.

He was so busy with servicing existing clients that we was scared to bring in any more.

All their time was going to work they were already paid for.

They weren’t getting enough money from their client work to keep going.

He didn't want to admit it to his wife, employees, and especially to himself.  But he was in a dark place that he couldn't get out of by himself.

Our Solution

After hearing his problems and needs, we quickly saw very specific solutions that would help the agency turn things around.

In ten hours, we took them through two different tactics that could help undo certain issues and create opportunities for growth.

The first tactic we prescribed was to adjust the way they were positioned.

And to do this, we had them figure three things out:

  1. Identifying their ideal client
  2. Communicating their unique value to that ideal client
  3. Knowing the challenges their clients face and how they can accomplish what the prospect was looking for.

Taking all the insights from the three points above into mind, we created a capabilities deck for the branding and creative design agency. It allowed them to:

  • Manage a prospect’s challenges;
  • Communicate the value of their services, and;
  • Give the prospect a clear understanding of what they do, the expertise they have, how they were going to impact their life

With the capabilities deck in place, the agency got to move from selling work like other agencies and learned to sell their process instead.

The second tactic that we developed for the agency was creating a process for their bidding. This helped them determine how much they should be bidding on for the work that they were submitting to prospects.

Once we had the process laid out, we created a sales budgeting system. With this system, they could use a template that provided an understandable financial format that would show them:

  • What was going on with their finances;
  • How much they needed so they could invest in expanding their team, and;
  • How much they needed to make so they could grow the agency.

Together, these two tactics set the branding and creative design agency up with the infrastructure they needed to grow.

The Result

In less than 90 days, the branding and creative design agency was able to see the following results after just ten hours of work with us:

  1. Increased their service pricing so they could make more money with the same exact workload that they had when they were still making $450,000 a year;

  2. They got to increase their annual revenue by $320,000 a year—which totals out to an amazing 71% increase in revenue;

  3. They were able to significantly improve their financial status, hire more people, and expand their operations, and;

  4. The agency’s owner finally could step back and not overwork himself while running the agency.
